Approved for 1 CEU, AADOM is an AGD Pace Approved Provider (can be used towards AADOM Designations)

Are your patient acquisition tools cutting-edge or old-school?

The tools and techniques currently available for marketing to new patients in dental practices are often couched in confusing terminology and misleading expense-to-value ratios. It can be daunting for even the most business-savvy dental professional.

During this information-packed presentation, Dr. Michael Silverman of DOCS Education discusses the 8 key elements of marketing for dental patients with real-life case examples and equips you with strategies to make intelligent marketing decisions for your business. With more than three decades of experience marketing for himself as well as hundreds of dental practices, Dr. Silverman will teach you to avoid the carpenter’s paradigm: If all you have is a hammer, everything looks like a nail. (If all you have is SEO, everything looks like Google)

    Objectives:

    • Orient yourself to the current state of technology and what is coming next with AI
    • Avoid being overcharged by learning the true cost of marketing techniques
    • Run as fast as you can from cookie-cutter marketing plans – your practice is unique
    • Combine your old-school marketing with the latest in programmatic techniques to supercharge your investment

The first contact a patient or potential patient has with your practice is with the person who answers the phone. Make sure your front office staff is prepared to make a positive first impression.

Our presenter, Linda O'Grady, is a nationally-renowned team trainer and consultant in practice management.

    Objectives:

    • Review the anatomy of a call
    • Learn to adjust your answers to get the sedation patient to schedule
    • Practice scenarios included

    Linda O'Grady

Through years of working with clients, Linda became acutely aware of the need to help dentists obtain a “Fair Market Value” valuation for their practice, whether they want to purchase or sell a practice, add an associate or partner, or experience a change in marital status. After several courses in practice valuation, she settled on a process that evaluated all aspects of the practice, not just a basic formula. With her background in managing practices and evaluating their financials, she could add another level of expertise to the valuation of dental practices. She chose not to be a broker in order to offer a non-biased valuation.

Her career in dentistry began in 1968 with experience in BOTH the clinical and business aspects of the industry. Working as a Registered Dental Assistant and moving into office management inspired the opening of Practice Management Company in 1983.

In 1990, she co-founded Advanced Hygiene Concepts, the recognized leader in teaching and implementing advanced skills that produce beautiful, healthy tissue—the foundation for exquisite restorative dentistry. The results: A significant increase in profitability; a cohesive team approach to hygiene; and consistently superior clinical results.

In 2004, she co-founded Sunrise Dental Solutions, a company dedicated to providing dental practices with training in methods to improve the overall profitability and growth of the practice, while reducing stress. She has helped hundreds of Dentists across the United States and Canada improve the profitability and organization of their practices. She retired in 2018 from SDS.

At the time of her death, Linda O’Grady was a member of the Crown Council, was a co-developer of the hygiene protocol for DOCS, formerly on the faculty of PAC~Live, co-developed the laser protocol in hygiene in 1993, and was a writer and lecturer.

    Dental Wellness of Lexington

Dr. Mattox’s interests and expertise in dentistry focus on patient education, oral surgery, implants, and long-term restoration of dental function. Dr. Mattox pursued her doctorate at the University of Kentucky College of Dentistry, where she graduated with honors and received awards for outstanding achievement in prosthodontics and oral radiology.

Dr. Mattox remains active in the College of Dentistry, serving as an Associate Instructor of prosthodontics and as a member of the Admissions Committee.

She is a master at rebuilding patient self-confidence by replenishing their smile and improving their oral health.

Dr. Mattox is an owner of Dental Wellness of Lexington and is instrumental in the success of DOCS Education’s IV sedation dentistry program. She finds, prescreens, and oversees all patient procedures for our IV students to work on during their clinical sessions.

Dr. Mattox was raised on a farm in a small town in the northern part of Kentucky. As a child, she was relentlessly teased because of her “buck teeth”; to make matters worse, her parents allowed her unfettered access to soda and candy, which led to the need for several extensive dental procedures. Thankfully, she was able to visit the same family dentist for many years, a man who consistently showed an interest in her as a person and a good student; he even encouraged her to become a dentist from the time she was 10 years old, and all the way up to her college years!

Meanwhile, Carol’s self-confidence grew as her teeth were gradually corrected, and she even enjoyed guessing what type of wire would be used next at each orthodontic appointment. These experiences fostered a lifelong passion for the field of oral healthcare and a desire to make other patients as happy as her dentist had made her through dentistry.

Dr. Mattox and her husband, Nathan, have two daughters, Abigail and Ansley. Outside of oral healthcare, one of Carol’s biggest passions is training for marathons and half marathons. She enjoys participating in a variety of exercises, from running with friends to attending spin classes to weightlifting. Other interests include crafting, baking, and watching her daughters compete in sports such as archery, academic team meets, golf, and basketball.
